Virginia: 2017 Veto Session Completed
April 06, 2017
Lawmakers returned to the capitol Wednesday, upholding all of the governor’s vetoes; including measures on firearms, welfare, immigration, and school choice. Legislators also tackled several of the governor’s recommended changes to the budget and other bills. As the veto session ended, the General Assembly agreed to a new payment structure for the state’s Birth-Related Neurological Injury Program, and to create a new joint legislative subcommittee to review Medicaid expansion.
