New York: Special Session Called
June 27, 2017

Lawmakers have been called back into a special session by Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), to consider his proposal to extend the mayor of New York City’s  control over the city school system for one year. The current oversight expires June 30. Other items that may be on the agenda include extensions of sales taxes in more than 50 counties, and enhanced disability benefits for police, firefighters, and members of the Employee’s  Retirement System.
