Colorado: 2017 Regular Session Adjourns
May 11, 2017

Lawmakers adjourned the 2017 legislative session late yesterday after approving a Medicaid expansion study to consider opioid addiction, a civil forfeiture law overhaul, and a child care income tax credit. Legislators also approved a measure to seal criminal records for certain marijuana-based offenses after legalization and a directive to colleges to offer academic credit for military experience.

As the session ended, lawmakers were unable to reach an agreement on a review and mapping of gas pipelines and targets for emissions reduction. Governor Jon Hickenlooper (D), who does not possess a pocket veto, has until June 9 to sign or veto legislation that reaches his desk.
